Because we encounter this problem all the time, we have some stuff that we use to ensure the correct appearance for a lamp, even without seeing the fire ourselves.

How to measure: (1). You need to have three main measures, bottom diameter, top diameter and height. The diameter of the bottom is the measure through the opening at the bottom of the lampshade. The top diameter is the distance through the upper opening of the shade. The height of a lampshade should be measured straight up and vertically, not along the slope. This is where the confusion begins. When communicating the measures of different individuals and stores put the three dimensions in a different order, this is not standard, so be careful that you do not confuse the bottom and height measurements, for example.(2). The height should be measured straight up and down, but some can be measured along the slope. These two measures may be very different and eventually cause the shadow to be incorrect so confused. Always specify how height is measured. We found that many people that measure the inclination of the shadow refer to it as the length of the shadow, rather than height.

Measure the height Tip: The reason you must measure the height from top to bottom, vertically, is that measuring the height of your lamp base lamp socket to top of harp is probably the minimum vertical height you want to cover electrical components with the shadow. Height adjustment Tip: If you are planning a shade replacement stocks, the overall size of your lamp and the light can be adjusted. The wire harp that holds the shade on the tank is interchangeable. This is great news, if a color standard is to say an inch short term. Rather than having to order a custom lampshade you could change the harp causing the shadows to be closest to the lamp to give you the desired look.

Shade Mounting: A color standard mount features a center bar on the top with a hole for the harp assembly or a slice centered by three brackets that attach the top edge of the shadow. Both allow the shade to be secured to the harp. A few small lamps and chandeliers do not use a harp, but rather use a bulb clip to attach directly to the bulb. A bulb clip is simply two metal loops that are attached to the bar center of the shadow and the seizure of the bulb. A bulb clip adapter can be added to any standard shade for it to be placed on the bulb. Chandelier shades are usually built in clips for the bulb is small flame or candelabra-shaped bulbs. Used as lamp shades suspended in May uno use a frame that has a center ring large enough for the bulb socket to pass through. They also appear on some table lamps. You can use clip lamp shade on a replacement instead of an uno mount. Try putting these simple tips for working on your next shade Rawhide lamp shade or a replacement project and you'll be sure to measure, order and receive the correct color lamp power the first time.
